General public tickets are $5 each and available only at the auditorium ticket window. Tickets are free for students, faculty and staff with a university I.D. and may be picked up in advance at Farthing Auditorium ticket window or the Plemmons Student Union information desk. For more information, call Brad Vest at 262-3032.

It’s the third professional band for three of its founding members. Bass player Ray Deaton, guitarist Russell Moore and fiddler Mike Hartgrove had been members of the group “Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver” before striking out on their own. Hartgrove also played with the “Bluegrass Cardinals.” Mandolin player Wayne Benson played with “Livewire,” and banjo player Steve Dilling was with the “Lonesome River Band.”

The award-winning band has appeared several times at the Grand Ole Opry, on TNN Country News, Martha White Bluegrass Night at the Ryman, Prime Time Country, and at bluegrass festivals in the United States and Canada.

The program is sponsored by the Appalachian Heritage Council of the Appalachian Popular Programming Society and the Division of Student Development.
