Treble Choir Spring Concert Is April 30

042000triple_trio_dl.jpgBOONE–The School of Music’s 50-member women’s choral ensemble will perform a variety of music Sunday, April 30, at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall at Appalachian State University.

Admission is free.

treble.jpgThe Treble Choir is directed by Dr. Priscilla Peebles and will be accompanied by pianist Eleanore Manley. The program includes works by Aradelt, Bach, Schubert, Vaughan Williams and Bernstein. Guest performers include faculty members Brian Bailey on organ and Arthur Unsworth on piano.

The a cappella ensembles “The Triple Trio” and “Just for Kicks” will sing Cole Porter compositions and barbershop tunes.

Musical pieces include “Thou Who Wast God” arranged by Katherine Davis, “Rise Up Singing” by Michael Jothen, “Ave Maria” by Jacob Arcadelt, “Amazing Grace” arranged by Jeremy Young and Erin Trivette, “Sing to the Lord a Marvelous Song” by Eugene Butler, “Scherzo for Spring” by Robert Washburn, “Bumble Bee” by Henry Marshall, “Sentimental Journey” by Bud Green, “Gavotte for Bach” by J.S. Bach and “Someone to Watch Over Me” by George and Ira Gershwin.
