School of Music Student Recitals March 1 Feature Tommy Sprinkle and Joseph Aycock

BOONE — Student recitals held March 1 at Appalachian State University’s School of Music will feature Tommy Sprinkle on double bass and Joseph W. Aycock III on xylophone.

Piano accompanists are Eleanore Manley and Matthew Maines.

Sprinkle will perform at 6 p.m. in Rosen Concert Hall, located in the Broyhill Music Center.

Aycock will perform at 8 p.m. Admission is free and the public is welcome.

Sprinkle’s program features “Suite No. 1 in C Major” by Johann Sebastian Bach, “Concerto for Double Bass in B minor” by Giovanni Bottesini and “Concerto for Double Bass in G Major” by Domenico Dragonetti.

Aycock’s program features “Two Mexican Dances for Marimba” by Gordon Stout, “Declaration, Song and Dance for Solo Timpani” by Kristen Shiner, “Three Dances for Solo Snare Drum” by Warren Benson, “Corrente II” by William Kraft and “Hora Staccato” by Dinicu-Heifetz, arranged by Morris Goldenberg.

Sprinkle is a student of Jan Mixer.

Aycock is a student of Dr. Robert Falvo.

Aycock is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
