Reynerson Faculty Recital Presented April 20

031301piano_dl.jpgBOONE — Pianist Rodney Reynerson will perform the works of Schubert, Beethoven and Prokofiev during a recital April 20 at 8 p.m. in Appalachian State University’s Rosen Concert Hall. Part of the School of Music’s Faculty Recital Series, the performance also will help fund scholarships for music students. Admission is $5 for nonstudents and $3 for students.

Reynerson is a member of the keyboard faculty at Appalachian. He will perform on the School of Music’s new nine-foot Steinway grand piano.

Recital selections include “Resting Place” by Franz Schubert, “Sonata in C Major, Op. 2 No. 3″ by Beethoven, selections from Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet” and works by Chopin, among others.

Reynerson is a graduate of Murray State University and Indiana University.

He joined the Appalachian faculty in 1980. Reynerson has performed solo literature, chamber music, and piano concerti throughout the eastern United States.
