Friends of Belk Library Enjoy “Taste of the South”

BOONE — Robert Inman, well known author and TV news broadcaster, will speak at the Richard T. Barker Friends of the Library annual meeting Wednesday, May 2, at 4 p.m. at the Appalachian Cultural Museum.

The meeting, billed as “A Taste of the South,” also will feature southern delicacies as refreshments.

Inman, a native of Alabama, was a popular news anchor on WBTV in Charlotte for a number of years before he left to pursue his writing career. He has written a number of television screenplays. His books are “Home Fires Burning,” “Old Dogs and Children” and “Dairy Queen Days.” “Coming Home” is a collection of columns published in The Charlotte Observer.

Cost of the event is $15. For reservations call Belk Library at 262-2188. The Appalachian Cultural Museum is located in University Hall off Hwy. 321 south (Blowing Rock Road).
