Craft Enrichment Workshops Offered at Appalachian

BOONE–Appalachian State University will hold a series of craft enrichment workshops beginning at the end of January.

The series includes workshops in pottery, basket making, photography, stained glass and jewelry making.

All workshops are held in W. Kerr Scott Hall.

Pottery classes are divided into beginning, hand building, intermediate and advanced workshops.

Beginning pottery meets on Tuesdays, Jan. 29-March 26. Hand building meets on Thursdays, Jan. 31-March 28.

Intermediate and advanced pottery classes meet on Wednesdays, Jan. 30-March 27.

Class times are from 6?8:30 p.m.

Beginning and hand building pottery classes cost $125. The intermediate and advanced classes cost $135.

Fees include clay, glaze and firing.

Each class is limited to 12 students.

The basket-making workshop meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from March 18-April 17. The class costs $120 and is limited to 10 students. The class meets from 6:30-9 p.m.

The beginning black and white photography class meets on Fridays, Feb. 1-March 29.

Students will need a 35-mm camera. The class costs $145. The class meets from 6-9 p.m. and is limited to eight students.

The stained glass workshop meets Wednesdays from Jan. 30?March 6. A fee of $130 includes all materials and tools. The class lasts from 6-8:30 p.m. and is limited to 8 students.

The glass mosaic workshop meets Wednesdays from March 20-April 10. The class costs $90 and is limited to six students.

The jewelry workshop meets Tuesdays from Jan. 29-March 26. The class meets from 6-8:30 p.m. and is limited to 12 students.

The class costs $145 and includes all materials needed.
