Appalachian Guitar Ensemble Performs April 28

BOONE–The Appalachian Guitar Ensemble will present its final concert of the season on Sunday, April 28, at 4 p.m. The free concert will be held in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall at Appalachian State University.

The group is one of the ensembles in the Hayes School of Music. It is directed by Douglas James. Also joining the ensemble are Nancy Schneeloch-Bingham on flute and tin whistle, and Witold Kosmala on violin.

The program includes Handel’s “Arrival of the Queen of Sheeba,” music student Scott Perry’s composition “Concerto for Steel String Guitar with Glass Slide” and a suite of Celtic songs, including “Swallow Tail Jig” and “Campbell’s Farewell to Red Gap.”
