Women’s Weekend Held Nov. 8-9

A Women’s Weekend designed to build bridges between women and foster self-esteem and acceptance will be held Friday, Nov. 8, beginning at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in Plemmons Student Union at Appalachian State University.

The event is sponsored by the Appalachian Parents Association, Women’s Center, and the Counseling and Psychological Services Center, an Office of the Division of Student Development.

Bring a mother, daughter, friend, sister, professor, teammate, or just your self. Activities include a theatrical performance portraying five women suffering from eating issues and weight obsession, a fashion show/brunch with door prizes, followed by other sessions focusing on building self-esteem and wellness. Admission is free. Reservations are encouraged.
