Watauga Community Band Performs May 4

BOONE–The Watauga Community Band Spring Concert will be held Sunday, May 4, at 4 p.m. in Appalachian State University’s Rosen Concert Hall in Broyhill Music Center. Admission is free and the public is invited.

The band is an all-volunteer concert band composed of members of the local community and students from the university.

The band is conducted by Dr. Charles Isley. Featured soloists are Bill Jones, trumpet, Harold McKinney, trombone, and Leon Corpening, tuba.

Selections include “The Star Spangled Banner,” “The Washington Post March,” “Incantation and Dance,” “Blue Bells of Scotland,” “Air and Variation” and “The Ultimate Patriotic Sing-A-Long.”
