Piano Duo Performs June 27 at Appalachian

BOONE–The piano duo of Rodney Reynerson and Bair Shagdaron will be featured in Sunday, June 27, at 8 p.m. in Appalachian State University’s Rosen Concert Hall. Admission is $10.

The concert is part of the Sunday summer concert series sponsored by Appalachian’s Office of Summer Sessions in cooperation with the Watauga County Arts Council.

The duo will perform “Sonata in D Major, K. 448″ by Mozart, “Nocturnes (Fetes)” by Debussy and “Concertino, Op. 94″ by Shostakovitch. Reynerson joined the Appalachian faculty in 1980. He has performed solo literature, chamber music, and piano concerts throughout the United States. Reynerson earned his doctoral and master’s degrees from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree from Murray State University.

Shagdaron joined the Appalachian faculty in 2000. He is an accomplished soloist and has won international competitions in Germany, Italy, Portugal and Mongolia.

Shagdaron has a doctoral degree in piano performance from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

The next concert in the series will be Aug. 1 and will feature the brass faculty from Appalachian.
