Fall Break Adventure Program Held Oct. 21-22 at Camp Broadstone

BOONE–Appalachian State University’s Camp Broadstone is celebrating 30 years of adventure programming in Watauga County. As part of the celebration, a Watauga County School Fall Break will be held Oct. 21-22 for all area fifth-seventh grade students

Students are invited to challenge themselves on the camp’s Alpine Tower, the Climbing Wall, and the Group Interaction Course. Such activities help develop communication and problem solving skills and creativity.

Participants may sign up for one or both days. Drop off time for both days is 1:30 p.m. Pickup for both days is 6 p.m. Call the camp office at 963-4640 for registration information, or send an e-mail to higlyba@appstate.edu.

The fee for either afternoon session is $30. The fee for both days is $60. Please register early as spaces are limited. A $20 late fee will be charged for those registering after Oct. 8. There is a special rate for Broadstone alumni. Call for details.

Camp Broadstone, located in Valle Crucis, is an American Camping Association accredited camp. All Fall Break Adventure Program sessions will be led by camp facilitators who are chosen for their outdoor leadership experience and are certified in first aid and CPR.
