Smathers and Williams Selected Homecoming Queen and King at Appalachian

102504kingqueen_dl.jpgBOONE — Bonnie Smathers of Mars Hill and Milton Williams of Hope Mills were named homecoming queen and king during activities at Appalachian State University on Oct. 23.

Each campus student organization elects one person each for king and queen, and then those nominees are voted on by the entire student body during the week prior to homecoming.

Smathers is a junior elementary education major. She is the daughter of Dyatt and Robin Smathers of Mars Hill.

Williams is a sophomore music education major. He is the son of Donald and Wander Williams of Hope Mills.
