Appalachian Heritage Week celebrated Oct. 29-Nov. 3 at Appalachian

BOONE—Appalachian State University’s Appalachian Heritage Council presents a weeklong celebration of Appalachian heritage and culture Oct. 29-Nov. 3. All events are free and open to the public.

BOONE—Appalachian State University proposes to offer a degree completion program leading to a bachelor of science degree in middle grades/6-9 education with teacher licensure to begin in August 2007 at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute.

BOONE—Ballad singer Bobby McMillon and fiddler Bruce Greene will lead a ballad swap Nov. 1 at Appalachian State University. The program will be held from 7-9 p.m. in Carol Grotnes Belk Library and Information Commons Room 421.

University and Chamber singers perform Nov. 3 at Appalachian

BOONE—A Nov. 3 performance by the University and Chamber Singers at Appalachian State University may sound like a musical United Nations presentation.

The performance begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall.

5K run to benefit Community Care Clinic and Hunger Coalition

BOONE—The Exercise Science Club at Appalachian State University will sponsor the second annual Run 4 Relief, a five kilometer run/walk to raise money for the Community Care Clinic and the Watauga County Hunger Coalition.
