Looking Glass Gallery exhibit showcases the works of Sam Peeples

BOONE—An exhibition of the works of Appalachian State University art major Sam Peeples will be on display in Plemmons Student Union’s Looking Glass Gallery Feb. 23-March 19.

A reception will be held Friday, March 6, at 3:30 p.m. at the gallery in conjunction with the downtown Boone Art Crawl. Refreshments will be provided.

Peeples’ work incorporates the idea of painting as a verb rather than a noun. Each piece explores alternate media, straying from the traditional to allow a deeper development of personal style. The pieces on display were inspired by the circumstances at the time of their execution, stipulated by the moment, rather than any or preconceived notion of composition or content.

The exhibition is organized by student curator, Tabitha Perryman.
