Repertory orchestra and concert band perform April 10

BOONE—Join the Appalachian Repertory Orchestra and Appalachian Concert Band for an April 10 performance.

The program begins at 2 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall on campus. Admission is free.

Directed by James Allen Anderson and graduate conductor Lester R. Turner, the orchestra will perform Handel’s Concerto Grosso, Op. 6, No. 6, two selections for string orchestra from William Walton’s “Henry V” and Brahms’ “Hungarian Dance No. 5.”

The concert band will be directed by graduate conductors Justin Hammonds and Lester R. Turner.

The band will perform Jack Stamp’s “Down East Fanfare,” Morton Lauridsen’s “Contre Qui, Rose,”Alfred Reed’s “Alleluia! Laudamus Te,” John Philip Sousa’s “The Black Horse Troop” and J. Clifton Williams’ “Symphonic Dance No. 3.”
