Addictions Institute held June 6-10 at Appalachian

BOONE—The annual Al Greene Annual Appalachian Addictions Institute will be held June 6-10 at Appalachian State University’s Broyhill Inn and Conference Center. The institute was founded in 1990 by Professor Al Greene, now retired from Appalachian’s Department of Human Development and Psychological Counseling.

This year’s institute will focus on the Interrelationship between ADD (attention deficit disorder) and substance abuse; relationship issues for couples in recovery; therapeutic communities; LGBT counseling; medically assisted narcotic addiction treatment; counseling veterans; sexual offender treatment; HIV/AIDS/ infectious diseases; and counselor self-care.

Academic and continuing education units are available.
