Appalachian Guitar Orchestra performs Dec. 4

BOONE—The varied sounds of the guitar are showcased during a performance by the Appalachian Guitar Orchestra on Sunday, Dec. 4. The concert begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall at Appalachian State University. Admission is free.

The 38-member orchestra will perform Arcangelo Corelli’s “Christmas Concerto,” Handel’s “The Arrival of the Queen of Sheeba,” “Fantasia on La Traviata” by Francisco Tárrega, three compositions by Joaquín Rodrigo, three works by new age musician and composer Billy McLaughlin and a selection of sacred and secular holiday compositions.
