Appalachian Chorale performs operatic works April 29

BOONE—Popular vocal compositions from operas by Verdi, Offenbach and others will be performed by the Appalachian Chorale Tuesday, April 29, at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall at Appalachian State University. Admission is free.

The choral is directed by Dr. Linda Larson. Also performing will be the Appalachian Treble Choir directed by Professor Priscilla Peebles.

Selections include the “Drinking Song” from “La Traviata,” “Anvil Chorus” from “Il Trovatore,” “Habanera” from “Carmen” and selections from Sullivan’s “The Pirates of Penzance.”

Featured vocalists are Larson, Mary Gayle Green, John Fowler, Elizabeth Thomas, Mary Royall Hight, Sarah Cave and Jacob Cook.
