BOONE—The Smith Gallery in the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts at Appalachian State University will present “Boundless the BFA Senior Studio Exhibition Spring 2014” April 28 through May 10.

Music for horn featured April 27

BOONE—Music for the horn will be featured Sunday, April 27, at Appalachian State University. The members of the horn studio from the Hayes School of Music will be featured during the 6 p.m. concert in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall. Admission is free.

Evening of string chamber music presented April 30

BOONE—Works by Beethoven, Debussy and Haydn will be performed April 30 during an evening of string chamber music at Appalachian State University. The performance begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Recital Hall. Admission is free.

Appalachian announces May commencement speakers

BOONE—Appalachian State University’s spring commencement will be held May 9-11 with each of the university’s degree-granting colleges or schools holding individual ceremonies.

A total of 2,538 graduates and undergraduates have applied for graduation, including those completing degree requirements in August who have been invited to participate in the spring graduation.

Appalachian Young People’s Theatre presents “The Adventures of Don Quixote” April 25-27

BOONE—Knights and dragons come to life in the Appalachian Young People’s Theatre (AYPT) production of “The Adventures of Don Quixote” by Steven Fogell. This classic story for all ages will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, April 25, and at 2 p.m. both Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, in the IG Greer Studio Theatre at Appalachian State University.
