Women, science and social change topic of March 24 lecture

BOONE—Dr. Mary Wyer, associate professor of psychology and women’s and gender studies at N.C. State University, will present the 4th Annual Dean’s Advisory Council Interdisciplinary Lecture March 24 at Appalachian State University.

Lecture on Egyptian women and the paradox of the Arab spring presented April 24

BOONE—Dr. Birsen Bulmus, assistant professor of modern Middle Eastern history at Appalachian State University, will lecture on Egyptian women and the paradox of the Arab spring. Her talk begins at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, in Plemmons Student Union’s Price Lake Room. Pizza and drinks will be provided courtesy of the women’s studies program. The public is invited.
